We decided that an important part of the concept was how the imagery could be applied to the surrounding walls and bar at the creative networks talk.
We played around with how best to use our imagery on a large scale. We took the Daft Punk helmets and - because the image is vectorised and half toned - scaled them up to over a metre wide (the max size of our digital printer).
Taking these out of the context of the posters, and onto the white walls confirms the strength of Alec's imagery.
The most successful implementation for me is this selection of the AGD rips, which we could also scale up through half toning. We tried putting the imagery of Andrew himself into this context but it seemed a little bit odd to have imagery of the actual speaker at the event. The ripped artwork subtly implies at the speaker whilst being visually sumptuous.
We decided to stick with Albertus as the headline typeface, linking back to the posters and with it being a really great, strong and imposing typeface, reflecting the nature of the talks.
The briefing also mentioned a previous guests poster in which we used the grey rectangle that runs through the rest of the posters.
