OUGD603 / Extended Practice / Secret 7 / Getting Started

I'm pushing forward with my perspex idea, I've spoken to a few guys in the studio and they were all very keen to see how it would turn out!

Above is a rough illustration of the structure. I decided instead of glue, a series of nuts and bolts would be better in holding layers of perspex together. The illustration shows two thick slabs of perspex (5mm) along with a central piece (3mm) which, when laser cut will house the record sleeve.

The schematic above is ready to be laser cut. It includes the top layer (just holes for screws), middle layer (thinner and with laser cut out for sleeve) and bottom layer with screw holes and a small tab on the side for removing the sleeve.

I've since sourced materials, starting with some clear acrylic screws. I didn't want metallic screws to get in the way of the clarity of the piece.

Next I sourced the appropriate sizes of clear perspex, 2x5mm and 1x3mm.
