OUGD603 / Extended Practice / Yearbook / Various Updates

Worked with Alec today, really pushing forward with the yearbook. We started by running over the cover again, quickly deciding on the numbers 13-16 as a temp that we were happy with. Running it through photoshop and using the warp tool, we emulated the numbers as if printed onto material.

Not sure on the above layout but the two below are strong, one with a number on the back and one on the front.

Think these (above and below) work really well. The names will be either foiled or printed at Pressision with their HP indigo press (which can print white ink digitally - as if screenprinting).

Below, trying to add email addresses to the back page. Really not working! Got to add these into the other layouts somehow.

In addition to this, we sorted lots of other stuff. Spoke to Duncan to sort out images that we still need from students and a couple of bios that haven't been given to us yet. Duncan is also getting together awards for an awards spread and a short intro and outro.

As the book progresses, it becomes clear that there is no concept - aside from letting the brilliant work for itself. As such, the lack of text or cheesy quotes will play into the identity of the book.

Returning to the warped text. We've booked a print slot to print a selection of words (Seen below) which we'll then photograph with real creases and folds, relating to the materiality of the course.

13-16 is slated for the cover, though we also like Surface as a verb, noun and with the added neg meaning that it brings with it. I think this could be played with. The other words will go behind their respective spreads throughout the book.
