Where the project started for me. He uses letterpress in a way that isn't precious but instead embracing of the fact that it's a messy, human process.
Bob Cobbing
Incredible concrete poet, white paper + typewriter = psychedelia?
Sylvester Houedard
Similar to Cobbett but more gridded and structured.
Rosalie Gascoigne
Text is an [other] important element of her work; she would cut up and rearrange the faded, naive lettering found on these items to create abstract yet evocative grids of letters and word fragments, sometimes alluding to the crosswords and poetry of which she was so fond.
Jenny Holzer
Often electric and sometimes neon, Holzers work is text and exclamations that invite the viewer to draw their own conclusions.
Lawrence Weiner
Self aware
Large scale wall work that often fills whole gallery spaces, I like the communality of Weiner's work. To put an odd phrase on a wall for all to see makes an outsider artwork inclusive of everybody who walks past.
Each artist brings something to my thoughts and this research actually overlaps hugely into 2 other projects, the plusnet wall and my end of year I Need You to Change.
