OUGD603 / Extended Practice / Wall of Sound / Typeface Refining

The linear typography wasn't working for a number of reasons. It wasn't joining to create a working conductive surface without ugly additions. I took a look at bare conductive's site and saw that they'd used circular sections in order to increase the conductivity - physics moves in mysterious typographic ways...

I started implementing the dots and while it wasn't initially perfect, it was heading in the right direction. Each glyph derives from the last to create a truly modular typeface.

Softening the C by removing two of the corner dots.

The C didn't need softening but the B & D did, as it was easily read as a zero.

I added two extra little pads just to play around with sound making.

After a couple of mini crits I also softened the right side of the B & the G, starting to look cohesive and more legible!.
