OUGD603 / Extended Practice / Yearbook / Working on Spreads

Spent the last few days with Alec refining details of the spreads. We're definitely heading in the right direction, following a fairly strict set of rules in order to maintain simplicity, consistency and efficiency!

Above: Photographs of objects work well as full bleed, breaking our grid just often enough to add a sense of playfulness and avoid too much stasis within the spreads. We chose complementary work based on a number of reasons - things as simple as colour or direction of pattern contributed. Sometimes things just work.

The above spread was chosen for the repetition of 'fours'.

This spread shows two wildly different interpretations on the same theme - showing a depth and variation within the course.

Spreads like this show a variation on a wider theme - there's a purity to these works, both looking at the natural world in a complementary way.
