I'm not sure yet of whether they'll reference each other or just carry through the same concept. I'm thinking some sort of pie chart which indicates themes from within.
Update
I've begun work on the pie chart idea. I think it's a really nice way of tying 3 completely unlinked books together but also setting them apart from their contemporaries. I can;t remember ever seeing a book wherein its' themes were laid out on the cover. Maybe its a terrible idea but I like it as a collective piece!
Above is my first attempt, which takes the pie chart aesthetic and mainly concentrates on colour and type. I love the naive, primary colour scheme when placed against the charcoal grey.
There are a few things that must be included on the cover, including the penguin logo and a quote about the book:
‘A gruesomely witty cautionary
tale’ – Time
The addition of these elements affects the balance of the layout and I need to think more about type size etc. However, I do like the layout as it is!
